High-capacity hospital bed for demanding wards
The ScanAfia X ICU L is a four-function hospital bed designed for long-term use in a hospital environment and suitable for a wide variety of wards. It carries a safe working load of 340 kg, and the standard Ø 150 mm twin castors keep it effortless to move despite that capacity.
The height adjustment range of 34–84 cm improves ergonomics for staff and supports the patient’s ability to get in and out of bed independently. The nurse control panel is supplied as standard: it secures the bed’s functions against use by the patient and gives access to the Trendelenburg, CPR and cardiac positions. A sliding mechanism in the backrest keeps the patient from slipping towards the foot end, quick-release locks at the head and foot allow the bed ends to be detached rapidly in an emergency, and the mattress platform extension is integrated into the bed.

The ScanAfia X ICU L is one bed platform. The configuration is chosen at order.
- Patient surface width: 80 cm or 90 cm; total width with side rails 89.5 cm or 99.5 cm, and bed weight without rails 115 kg or 117 kg.
- Length: total length 217 cm, extending to 245 cm; patient surface 205 cm, extending to 225 cm.
- Machine-washable version: available with a wash cycle counter for facilities that put beds through a washing process.
